Jay White was born and raised in Fort Mill, South Carolina, the oldest of three boys. He graduated from Wofford College with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology, and his Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Houston. Jay is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of South Carolina and works with adolescents and adults in a myriad of ways. Clinical focus generally concentrates on (but is not limited to) depression, anxiety, and adjustment issues (a move, new job, divorce, etc.). Jay is best known for couples counseling and work with adolescents. "My friends make fun that I actually look forward to going to work to see angry teen-agers. Perhaps it's because I remember being one."

Jay's direct approach using a cognitive/ behavioral style elicits tangible and measurable results usually within a few weeks. He is open to questions and is eager to give direction to anyone with relationship or mental health questions.
Jay currently resides in Mount Pleasant, along with his wife and two young children.
Every Saturday morning at 8am, Jay can be heard on his weekly radio show, "Get Psyched with Jay White" The show airs on WTMA Newstalk Radio, AM 1250 in Charleston, SC. Jay talks with callers and guests on a wide range of issues concerning the world of therapy, and answers your therapy questions. Listen in or call in and have your own questions answered.
